3 Esthers Farm Program in Zambia

“And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’”

MATTHEW 25:40

Program Overview

We started the 3 Esthers Farm in 2015 with 10 acres of bare land. We are doing our best to respond to God's call to help feed the hungry kids in Zambia by supporting children at the Needs Care School in Lusaka and beyond.

Food insecurity is a daily struggle in Ngombe. The children who attend school often receive a noon meal, but far too many are forced to drop out of school due to lack of funds, or to care for younger family members, or for other issues that contribute to the complicated circumstances of poverty. Of those children who attend school, many will come to school hungry and go home to sleep without any other food to eat until noon the following school day. An extra meal, especially with fresh fruits and vegetables straight from the farm, would mean so much to them.

Our 2022 farm plan includes having 40 local team members in Zambia mobilized to serve food to nearly 6,000 hungry kids and families daily. We do this through our three core programs.

How It Works

The mission of the 3 Esthers Farm is to provide a harvest of nutritious supplemental fruits and vegetables to ensure that all of the hungry children in Ngombe have additional food support beyond a noonday meal at school. Who will help these suffering children?

Matthew 25:31-46, "For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink…”

Our Lord made it clear that those who are blessed are responsible for feeding the poor. At the 3 Esthers Farm, our goal is to assist the poor in practical and tangible ways, providing extra food straight from the farm as often as we can.

What’s The Impact?

While the harvests on 3 Esthers Farm are irregular, when there is a harvest, the food goes directly to the schoolchildren and to the families of Ngombe.

Harvest generally bring in tomatoes, cabbage, root vegetables, and bananas.

The Farm and farm fresh produce are vitally important. This nutrition will literally extend children's lives and give them a chance to grow up healthy and well educated.
